GOLDEN RULE
05/29/2025Beautiful Spirit, the day’s question is, How do you cope? Given life’s state of affairs, what coping mechanisms do you use to relieve anxiety, fear, depression, or whatever you may be experiencing?
Here are 7 things I do.
- Read the Bible. (Matthew Chapter 6: 31 to 33, Philippians 6:4-6. Read these in the New International Version (NIV)
- Pray.
- Exercise.
- I am mindful of who’s in my space. The vibe has to be right. If you’re always complaining, that’s a vibe killer.
- Listen to music. Worship, Jazz, etc. There’s something about that bass!
- Slow down and be still.
- Take one day at a time.

I clean when I am anxious or in a mood. It’s productive and makes me happy to see things done.
Whenever things are cleaned and I need to calm down, Bible journal or do a diamond painting are things I like to do. I pray, study my Bible, do some gardening or replant a plant. Walks are amazing de stressors. Sometimes I just sit on my porch and read.
I sit on my front porch in my rocking chairs and listen to the birds sing and play in the bird bath with my dogs.
Donna, that’s an excellent way to destress, center, etc. I love listening to the birds sing first thing in the morning while walking. It’s music to my ears! It’s even better when I can see the birds! Thank you for sharing.

Gardening is my biggest stress reliever! Also, I am learning to be still, give myself 1520 minutes to turn my negatives into positives when I’m stressed or worried
