FRESH START
01/03/20245 WAYS TO GET OUT OF A RUT
03/08/2024IMPLEMENT 3 WAYS TO RELAX
Beautiful spirit, Happy Saturday! I was sitting here cleaning of my desk and thought it would be a great time to send you a little note.
And in this dance, I find myself reflecting on the beauty of our shared journey, how we navigate through the ebb and flow of life’s unfolding chapters, finding solace in the small rituals that ground us amidst the ever-changing tide.
As I was clearing the clutter, I had my worship music playing. While listening, I was prompted to write a short message to you including 3 Ways to Relax. Hence the evolution of this post.
The first as I mentioned, would be to sit in a quiet space and listen to some soft music. My preference is Worship Music, as it is soothing to my spirit. Whether you choose that, Jazz, instrumental, classical, or some other genre, take the time to drown out the noise and be still. And yes, the noise includes putting down the cell phone. I wouldn’t want you to get interrupted by a notification, and ruin the peaceful vibe.
The second way is to get outside the four walls and get some fresh air. When was the last time you went for a walk, alone? This seems obvious, but how often do you do it? I’m waiting……..It can be done when it’s cold outside! Bundle up and put on that soothing music. Guess what, it’s also free!
And last, but certainly not least. Hit the bubbles. Remember, “Calgon, Take Me Away?” I’m dating myself. 3 WAYS TO RELAX Run that water. Get those bubbles, candles, book or music, beverage of choice, (I know you want a tall glass of water with lemon.) And lock the door! You deserve it. My point is, don’t let another year pass without you slowing down and smelling the roses.
This short list is by no means exhaustive. 3 WAYS TO RELAX But is instead encouragement to be intentional in the little things that cost you little to nothing. The rewards will be well worth it. Sanity and an adult time-out are enough to cause you to schedule yourself on your calendar. Beautiful spirit, make this a year of intentional self-care.
I almost did it again. You know, 3 WAYS TO RELAX the quote. Here you, go. I took this one from one of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ many books. This quote came from the book, “Instinct.”
The quote is, “Sometimes opposition comes dressed as opportunity.” Ponder that…..
Sometimes opposition comes dressed as opportunity.” It’s a profound observation, suggesting that what appears to be a setback or a challenge might actually be a chance for growth, change, or advancement. It’s a reminder that in the face of adversity, there’s often an underlying opportunity waiting to be seized.
Now, what would you add to this relaxation list? I’d love to hear.
XOXOXO,
GEM

I would add … go outside barefooted and ground yourself????
Kay, that’s a good one! I have to work up to it. Now if I’m at the beach, it’s a done deal.

Yes, 100% do this for yourself or your not your best self! You have taught me take care of myself better, relax, take deep breathes, get outside, rebound, disconnect from screens, eat better and take time for friends. I find when I do these things, I recharge get my priorities in check and refocus. Also, read your Bible! Taking care of ourselves is a huge priority!
Thank you for your blog! Always great wisdom.
Kim, I am glad you are seeing the difference small changes can make! I so appreciate you, my plant sister! Keep up the great work, and things will only get better!
XOXOXO,

Love all of these tips, but going outside is definitely my favorite (but almost a tie with a bubble bath). I do believe going outside is scientifically proven to help us regain focus too and think more clearly. Love your posts!
Linz, there is something about that fresh air! I’m also in agreement with that close second. What about chilling in a jacuzzi?! Thank you for choosing to be a part of our community! Perhaps you could share some of your plant knowledge……
