01/01/2026WHAT I’D TELL MY 20-YEAR OLD SELF
Beautiful Spirit, standing at the edge of a new year and reflecting on life so far, one question keeps returning: What I’d tell my 20-year-old self
Not as advice shouted across time.
Not as regret.
But as wisdom earned through living.
If I could sit across from that younger version of myself, I wouldn’t overwhelm her with everything I know now. I would choose just one thing—because often, one truth is enough to change the way we move forward.
I would tell her that uncertainty is not a sign she’s failing. It’s often the very place where growth begins.
I would remind her that knowledge is power—because once you know, you know. And with knowing comes choice.
I would advise her to trust her instincts. It’s quieter than fear, but far more honest.
I would also tell her she doesn’t need to rush becoming. Life will unfold whether she pushes or not. Some lessons will come gently. Others will insist. All of them will shape her.
Okay, I know I said one thing—but some truths insist on being shared.
So now I ask you: What would you tell your younger self?
Thank you for showing up here at Stylish. Creative. You. this past year. May the coming year be filled with clarity, creativity, and exactly what your heart needs.
Happy New Year.
XOXO,
GEM

I would tell my 20 year old self
To stay in the moment, so there’d be no regrets when those are gone.
Save more, spend less! No need to keep up with the Jones’
And be happy! Life is too short to sweat the small stuff!
Karen, thank you for these words of wisdom! They are relevant today…….
XOXO,

What I would tell my 20 year old self is to be bolder!
Liz, Yes! Think of all the encouragement you could give the youth who cross your path!
