CREATIVE OUTLETS: MAKING SPACE FOR CREATIVITY AND JOY
06/02/2026STRENGTH TO MAKE IT HAPPEN
Beautiful Spirit, Happy Monday! This post Strength to Make It Happen, was inspired by yesterday’s message at church and a visit to the magnificent Angel Oak Tree on Johns Island.
Yesterday’s message was titled, ‘You Were Built For This.’
After church, Reg and I took a Sunday drive to see the Angel Oak. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. It finally happened—even if it meant sacrificing my Sunday nap. 😊

Standing beneath its massive branches, I couldn’t help but think about everything this tree has endured through the years. Storms. Strong winds. Changing seasons. The wear and tear of time itself.
Yet, it is still standing.
Its branches stretch wide. Its roots run deep. Its presence is both powerful and peaceful.
As I admired its beauty, I couldn’t help but think about how much it reminded me of life.
Perhaps you’ve weathered a few storms yourself. Perhaps you’ve experienced disappointments, setbacks, unexpected detours, or seasons that tested your strength.
Life has a way of “lifing.” And yet, here you are.
Still standing.
Still growing.
Still reaching.
The Angel Oak reminded me that strength isn’t about never facing challenges. It’s about continuing to stand through them.
So today, let me remind you of something simple but powerful:
You were built for this.
Whatever your this may be.
You can handle it.
You can overcome it.
You can grow through it.
Look at the Angel Oak’s weathered bark, sprawling limbs, and countless leaves. Every part of it tells a story of resilience. Yours does too.
Let this be your reminder to keep going, regardless of how difficult the journey may seem or how small the progress feels.
An inch forward is still forward.
You were made for this.
Reflection:
What challenge in your life is asking you to trust your strength today?
