THE NEW SPOT
05/31/2024IT’S CHRISTMAS IN JUNE
06/22/2024Beautiful spirit, today I’m sharing my weekend vibes. If you remember the last post, I mentioned the new spot in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Vintiques Artisan Market. They had their grand opening this past Saturday, and I had an opportunity to stop by and check it out.
I had a chance to meet some creative vendors, and to check out all the unique creations. They had furniture, home decor, gift items, jewelry, crystals, crocheted animals, candles, toiletries, art, you name it, it’s there. Please don’t take my word for it, see for yourself.
When you go make sure you go upstairs and take your time as you look atUp each vendor’s space. Below are a couple of pics I took. Enjoy. When you stop by, make sure you tell Shannon, hello and that Glenda sent you. 🙂
If you’re a maker and you want to sell your handmade creations, contact Shannon.
FRIDAY
Friday, my weekend kicked off with a jazz concert at Charleston Music Hall. Terrance Young, a friend of ours, who’s a urban jazz guitarist was the headliner. He was accompanied by two other acts. It was awesome! DSG saxophone players named Steven Galloway, Darius Starks, David Glymph. In addition to DSG, there was also up-and-coming female singer. I will have to get her name and information so that I could share that with you. Did I say was awesome?!
SATURDAY MORNING EXERCISE
The weekend continued with our Saturday morning exercise. I talked my husband into taking a ride. This was our first ride of the year. The weather was just right. It wasn’t too hot or cold. I wasn’t near my husband when I took this pic but it’s just proof that it actually happened. The next time we ride, I will be sure and take another pic. To all my women friends 50+, have you implemented a routine to get in shape? A routine to stay in shape? Don’t worry empty nesters, I didn’t forget about you! Let’s get busy!
We enjoyed the Sawmill Branch Trail in Summerville. If you get a chance to go, it’s a nice trail to walk, run, or ride bike, and walk your four legged friend.
THE ICING ON THE CAKE
The culmination of my weekend entertainment, also known as “The Icing on the Cake”, was with Bad Boys: Ride or Die. It was fantastic! Will Smith and Martin Lawrence has done it again! If you haven’t seen it, you have to go and see it. After you’ve watched it, let me know if you think this is the end of the series or if it will it continue. I will weigh in after I hear your thoughts.
The ultimate event was attending Sunday service and feeding my spirit with the Word of God. I got to see some awesome people in our Growth Track Class. If you’re not busy next Sunday, check us out!
Now that I’ve told you how I spent my weekend, what did you do? How did you navigate these summer like temperatures. I haven’t hit the beach yet. Who knows, they may happen in the foreseeable future.
Before I forget like I’ve done int he past, here’s my quote for this post.
You may write me down in history with your bitter, twisted lines. You may trod me in the very dirt, but still, like dust, I’ll rise. – Dr. Maya Angelou
After I write posts, I seem to always have questions. So here are a couple. Do you charter boats and chill on the water? What was the last restaurant you went to? How was the food?
Don’t be a stranger, and definitely don’t forget to opt-in. As always, we don’t spam. In fact, I am updating our list. Let us know if you still wish to receive updates when we post.
Have a fantastic week!
XOXO,
GEM

Your weekend sounded amazing! I mulched and planted a few plants in my front flower beds. I made a bird bath with a fountain. It’s adorable and the birds love it. ❤️ I spent Saturday outside, when I got too hot, I went swimming, cooled off then got more things done . I cleaned off My porches and relaxed when I felt the need. I did not leave the house for 2 days. I love my space.
I been harvesting cucumbers and onions. I made a refreshing salad. That’s rewarding.
Sunshine, I love your oasis! My weekend was amazing! It’s not something I do regularly, but this time everything fell within the weekend.
It sounds like you had an awesome time, too! Rightly so because you were within your element. And your oasis is to live for. You have several options in which you could wind down. I need to make it a point to come over so I can sit on your gorgeous porch!
XOXO,
G
