05/24/20233 WAYS TO STAY FOCUSED
“Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praise-worthy, meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 (New King James Version)
Beautiful spirit, today’s quote is a scripture that really sums it up! I hear you saying, “3 WAYS TO STAY FOCUSED about time!” If I could get my brain to type as I get all the wonderful ideas and topics, you’d get tired of hearing from me. 🙂 Any who…..
Today’s post is all about focus. More specifically, 3 Ways to Stay Focused. These are things everyone can do and don’t require a whole lot of effort.
You have the ability to choose what grabs your attention. Here’s how:
ONE: As the above listed passage reference, Choose what you think about. Your thoughts become actions.
TWO: Be mindful of what you watch and listen to.
What are you listening to? Is it causing you to zero in on a particular thing? For example if you have a business, are you listening to information that will propel you to reach your next level? Family goals? Or, are you distracted by the shorts on the YouTube channel? Hand raised. I’ve been there and done that.
THREE: CLEAR THE CLUTTER
This one’s a doozy and one in which I could elaborate on. 3 WAYS TO STAY FOCUSED Clutter affects you.
My home office was a hot mess! And no, this time I didn’t take a picture, however, you can see it in some of my past pictures.
And yet, amidst the chaos, there are glimpses of potential—a sleek laptop peeking out from beneath a stack of papers, a bulletin board covered in colorful notes and reminders. A cozy reading nook beckons from the corner, its armchair piled high with cushions and blankets.
Despite the mess, there’s a sense of familiarity and comfort in the chaos—a reflection of the creative process at work. Amidst the clutter and confusion, ideas are born and projects take shape. It’s a reminder that productivity doesn’t always adhere to neatness and order, but thrives in the midst of chaos.
As the sunlight filters through the blinds, casting long shadows across the room, you can’t help but feel a sense of possibility. With a deep breath and a determined spirit, you roll up your sleeves and set to work, ready to tackle the mess and reclaim your space once more.
I would go in the office to work and often became distracted by all the stuff that was everywhere. My intention would be to go and work on a particular project, but then I’d get side-tracked with the many stacks of stuff, start multi-tasking and doing everything but I was supposed to be doing. Long story short, I made it a point to start throwing stuff away, and the rest is history….
I still have to clean out bookshelves and get rid of more stuff, but it looks a hundred times better, and is less distracting. I can actually sit in there and breathe! It feels so good!

Perfect timing for me! This is the post I needed to read along with the spot on scripture to back it! It’s so hard to focus when you look at the overall stuff you have going on, but breaking it down. Thinking about it and questioning, is it Godly, this task? Is it doing service to me and/or my family and the Lord?
Clutter…time to clear the clutter…especially mentally! Then I can seem to get more done!
Sheri, in this day and age, focusing on the right things can be challenging.
That’s why we have to be intentional about what we put before our eyes and in our ears. The Word always work.
Girrrrrllllllllll, when you clear the clutter, take a sigh of relief, and enjoy your accomplishment. I’m almost there!

Well, you know I’m trying to clear the clutter????????.
Thank you for the scripture
Miss you
I hope you have a wonderful day
Kay, you’ve already made it happen! Your space is warm, inviting, and perfect for ????.
You can never go wrong meditating on the Word, right?!
XOXOXO,

I find that so true. If I am cluttered, I cannot focus or enjoy anything until my house is in order. Making lists and setting timelines on things to do really helps me get it back on track. What we set out to listen to or watch is very important. I listen to Charles Stanley podcast in the morning on my way to work, and it gets my mind right for the day. Mind clutter and your house not in order are the worst.
Kim, you know I can totally relate because you’ve seen my space. God forbid if I can’t find something, and start pulling stuff out of the closet into the middle of the floor…..
The clutter in our actual space, as well as mind space effects us in ways we may not think of. Therefore, taking inventory of what’s in our space and how it makes you feel is imperative.
What’s more, the atmosphere that you set is conducive to the vibes you desire. Music, candles, books, audiobooks, along with a few plants????,is always a plus!????
