05/06/20247 HAPPY PLACES THAT BRING ME PEACE
Beautiful spirit, I was talking with some friends last week, and the conversation came up about 7 Happy Places. That conversation sparked this post, the 7 Happy Places that bring peace. Has this ever crossed your mind?
In our conversation, I mentioned my bedroom was one of my places. I call it my sanctuary. It’s quiet, and drama-free! I am currently in the process of making a few changes, starting with my linens. Don’t mind all the junk. I thought about taking this picture while changing my bed. Consider this my blank slate. Here is the before…….
This is the work in progress. If you want to see the update, make sure you Opt-in. By the way, showing this picture is holding me accountable to get it down. Procrastination, be gone!
As you can see, I’ve added another picture. I almost have all of the pillows I want for my bed. The one thing that I didn’t count on, were wrinkles. I didn’t put any starch on the pillows shams before I put them on the bed. Even without the starch, I still love the look! I plan to search for a decorative pillow, or a pillow that has inspiring words, etc. What do you think? Did you think I was going to post another picture?
Why do you need a 7 happy place? Life happens, that’s why. You need a place to relax, de-stress, wind down, or point blank that makes you happy! For all my garden lovers and grounders, I feel you!
Life can be demanding, and having a 7 happy place is essential for maintaining balance. Whether it’s to unwind, recharge, or simply find solace, having a designated space can significantly impact your well-being. My bedroom is one of the places. These are places that make you smile or bring you joy. Whether it’s to unwind, recharge, or simply find solace, having a designated space can significantly impact your well-being. For all the nature enthusiasts and those who seek grounding and relaxation into your life having a sanctuary is crucial. Here you go! This list not all inclusive, but a start.
7 HAPPY PLACES THAT DON’T BREAK THE BANK
- Beach
- Bookstore/Library
- Coffee Shop/Cafe
- Garden/Botanical Garden/Park/Your Backyard
- Spa or Wellness Retreat
- Another Area in Home
- Outdoors/Walking/Hiking/Nature Retreat/Riding Bike
A 7 happy place does not have to be expensive. If you have a sunroom, backyard, walking trail, etc., these are all free. However, even for places that may incur a small cost, like bookstores or coffee shops, the investment is often minimal compared to the joy they bring. While indulging in a delicious lunch or purchasing a new book can add to the experience. After all, the value of a happy place lies not in its price tag, but in the peace and contentment it brings to our lives for the ones that do cost, like bookstores, coffee shops, etc., the price is minimal. That’s unless you eat lunch, and purchase books, which by the way, are all good.
The above list are a few happy places to explore. My faves are the Beach, a bookstore like Books A Million or Barnes & Nobles, Coffee Shops like Cuppa Manna or Starbucks and the great outdoors. I love a quiet walk! Riding bike is good, too.
Partaking of at least one of these options is a must! Whether through relaxation, creativity, social connection, or for personal growth, make it a point to put one of these options on your calendar, or in your cell phone. Would you do that for yourself?
Life will continue to happen. What are you currently doing to wind down? Do you have a favorite place ? These 7 Happy Places are my top picks. We’d love for you to share.
I hope this brief post spark self-conversation. Engaging in self-conversation allows you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and aspirations, fostering a deeper understanding of yourself. It’s a powerful practice that can lead to personal growth and self-discovery. You deserve to be happy and to benefit from stillness, as well as have peace and quiet. Plus, it’s good for your sanity.
Until next time,
XOXO,
GEM
