04/02/2024CHECK-IN WHAT I’M UP TO
Beautiful spirit, get up off the floor. I see you. This is my check-in and what I’m up to. I know it’s been a while, and I have good reason for not CHECK-IN.
The 411 is, I am working on my coaching certification, and I’m actually keeping a schedule with the use of technology. Now I know that sounds like a no-brainer, but I am one of those folks that like to write stuff down in an actual book. I know I’m a rare breed. Do you use technology, or are you my sista from anotha motha?
So I know there were some projects I said I wanted to work on, and my confession is, I have not done them. We are three days into Spring, and I am not motivated to do the work. However, I love the sunshine and potential flowers blooming… This is my sunflower moment. It makes you smile, right?
As I mentioned earlier, I have things I need to get done….. repot plants, CHECK-IN complete my planter for my veggies, etc….. Can you give a sista a little encouragement! Have you planted any flowers? Do you have a garden? Here is what I looked at today, and knew I needed to share with you. Don’t judge me.
Absolutely, I’m here to cheer you on! You’ve got this, and CHECK-IN tackling those tasks on your to-do list will bring you closer to enjoying the beauty of your garden and the satisfaction of nurturing your plants. Remember, every little step forward is progress, whether it’s repotting your plants or completing your veggie planter. And as for me, while I don’t have a physical garden, I’ve certainly planted seeds of ideas and inspiration in the minds of those I chat with!
As for not judging you, never fear! There’s no judgment here, only support and camaraderie. Share away, whether it’s your gardening adventures or any other aspect of your day. We’re all in this together, rooting for each other’s success and growth. So take a deep breath, visualize the vibrant blooms and lush greens that await you, and dive into your tasks with enthusiasm and determination. You’ve got a green thumb and a heart full of passion—let them guide you to create the garden of your dreams!
After I searched online, I discovered not allowing picture uploads keeps spam at bay. That makes perfect sense. So, in that case send your pictures to me, and I’ll be happy to share them.
Kay and I talked today, and I said I was going to clean out the wandering jew she gave me and share the pictures, so here you, go! Kay, I kept my word……
Also, if you’re interested in getting answers from a real plant doctor, yes, there is such a thing, check out my friend Linzi’s Instagram page. She will be happy to answer any of your questions. Talk about plant goals. Her Instagram feed has a wealth of information and plants!
Look at Kay’s Creations. She has a love for working in the yard.
I hope this quick post gives you an idea as to what I’ve been up to. By the way, CHECK-IN can you believe we’re already in the third month of the year, soon to be the forth month of 2024?!
You didn’t remind me last time and I forgot my quote. I was listening to Pastor Bill Johnson, and he was sharing a joke. I don’t know who the original author was, but it tickled me so I wanted to share it with you.I hope I get it right! Here we, go.
“I hate to brag, but I can still wear the same earrings from high school.” I can sense your belly laugh. Really, CHECK-IN do you get the joke? Comment if you get the joke.
In addition to my joke, I still want to leave you with a quote. Enjoy!
“There is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.” – Amanda Gorman
What a great way to end this post. Keep shining!

Oh I’m with you! Love this!
That motivation left me with that coffee table project! LOL
BUT…I have some flowers blooming! Not many but it made me feel so much better to start some seeds and buy and put some already blooming flowers. Also planted some seed with my granddaughter and her little zinnia plants are sprouting! She saw them today and was so proud!
Yep…it’s the little things that matter most!
And…I can still wear the same size earrings as in high school! Ahhhhmazing!
Sheri, you make my heart smile.💕 Now that you’ve publicly confessed about the table, my readers will be looking for an update, as will I.
Looks like your and your little cutie are off to a great start with the flowers/plants. Kudos to you! And those earrings…….. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Don’t forget to post your finished table. We’re cheering you on!
XOXO,
GEM
Update on table:
I placed it in my shop without doing anything to it! I got it out of my “project stuff” and will allow someone else to put their magic touch to it! Smile…..😊
Sheri, I must admit, I was looking forward to hearing about the creative touches you added to it. However, I am glad there was still progress. I look forward to the message, “SOLD!” 🙂
XOXOXO,
GEM
I like to make to do lists. I use more journals than technology. Mostly bc, my job has me on my computer and phone most of my time. When I am home doing my house work, I honestly lose it and don’t even care. As long as I find it for work, i am good.if it wasn’t for communication with my son. I wouldn’t even look at it on my days off.
I think there is satisfaction in writing a to do list when i am drinking my morning coffee. Then crossing off all my accomplishments at the end of the day.
I got my spring veggies planted in my garden. I love planting a garden. It’s so beautiful seeing the plants come back to life again. I planted my herb garden too. I’d post a picture but I’m not sure how to attach a file on here.
Get your butt moving and get excited about planting. It’s rewarding. You will thank me later!!
Kim, my sista from anotha anotha motha, it’s the small things that matter so much!
Manually versus technology, you make a good point. I’m of the opinion, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. What’s ironic is, you use a journal and I’m using technology. Go figure. Now when it comes to books, give me the book! Forget technology. That’s unless it’s a quick Google search.
You’ve got that green thumb. 💚 Where did we meet? Oh yeah, Lowes garden section…. That says a lot! 🌾🌿
I looked at the plant you gave me and thought, I gotta repot it. It’ll happen.
Regarding that butt situation, when my grass, weeds, etc., get fence height, then it’ll become a priority. No worries, I’m going to shock you…wait and see! Until then, keep shining!
XOXO,
GEM
I also have a day planner, a calendar on my refrigerator and a list. Would I go to the store. My main goal today was to get batteries. I went to Lowe’s. Got sidetracked got some mulch then I went over to Walmart to get my batteries, got sidetracked And got a drill!
I don’t know when will get those batteries but maybe one day lol!! I was going to share some pictures of my backyard but I can’t remember how to post the pictures on here. My sweet friend can you help me lol. It’s been that kind of a day.😘
Kay, First of all, I went home and did just what I said. I cleaned out the wandering jew and hosed her down. She looks great! I can’t wait until she fills out the pot and covers the area that I didn’t paint. I could add more dirt, but I prefer the growth instead. I will update the post with the pictures.
Now regarding the tools, and lists, with all the noise, you can see how we can still become so distracted and lose sight of our original intent. Living in the moment, and focusing are so important. I get it. There are so many things to do and see! You’ll get those batteries!
XOXO,
GEM
Your plant looks beautiful! Great job! I will send you several pictures and you can pick which one you want to post😊😊
Thank you❣️
XOXO,
